You’ve had an order or two (or more) with Poplin and things are going well. You’re getting used to a life without laundry. But are you getting the most out of the Poplin experience? There are so many ways to customize your order.

Checkout this complete guide for maximum customization on your next Poplin order.

Pickup location: You can choose from Front Door, Back Door, etc., and any custom details (i.e. the laundry will be in the hot pink shed to the right of the house). This can be adjusted on every order as needed.

Service speed: either Standard, or Express. Delivery times vary depending on when you place your order. Just know Express service is always available to you for a faster speed arriving either the same day, or overnight.

Detergent: Did you know you can choose regular OR hypoallergenic detergent? And that detergent is provided by your Laundry Pro at no additional charge? But, if you swear by your favorite specific brand, just choose “Provide My Own” and include your detergent when you place your laundry outside for pickup.

Laundry Care Preferences: Delicates? Say less. Hang Dry? We got you. Any additional instructions on washing preferences like temperature, put it in the special instruction section.

  • Delicate cycle

    Check this box, and then separate your delicate items when you put the laundry out. Label the bag or put details in special instructions. This ensures your Laundry Pro washes those items on a delicate cycle instead!

  • Hang-dry

    Either separate the items you want hung dry, or note which types of items (i.e. all sweaters) you’d like hung dry. After washing your Laundry Pro will hang those items to dry and return them neatly folded.

*Hang-dry is not available on Express orders due to the time required.

  • Return items on hangers. Want items hung instead of folded? Your Laundry Pro can make it happen! Just select the “Hangers” checkbox and detail which items you want returned on hangers. Then include those hangers with your laundry at pickup! Oftentimes, customers want items hung dry AND returned on hangers. Easy. Just select both “Hang-Dry” and “Hangers” and you’re all set.

Additional Instructions: A blank canvas! You can use this space to add any context for your previously selected preferences, or any additional instructions you might have. For example:

  • Separate or mix

    Your personal preferences matter to us. If you want your whites and colors separated, or your towels and clothes mixed, just let your Laundry Pro know in the additional instructions.

  • Add-ins

    Do you have a favorite bleach, vinegar, scent beads, or fabric softener? Although Laundry Pros do not provide these items, they will happily use them if you provide your own. Just specify your preferences in the additional instructions and include them with your order at pickup.

Note: Poplin provides a single wash per load and currently does not provide stain treatment or ironing.

Large items: Do you have large items such as comforters or blankets, that need washing? We define as “Large item” as a single item that take a whole load on its own. Let us know in the “Extras” section of your order.

Coverage options: Basic coverage is included in ever Poplin order. We also offer higher coverage plans. Choose the one that best fits your needs.

Request preferred Laundry Pro: Have a favorite Laundry Pro? You can request them for your job. While we can't guarantee their availability, we will notify them first so they have priority on your order.

Tipping: Tips are not required but are always appreciated. If you would like to tip your Laundry Pro, you can do so through the app after your order has been delivered.

Promptly Rate/Review: Your feedback is vital to us. After your order is completed, please take a moment to rate and review your Laundry Pro. It means a lot to them. It also helps us ensure high-quality service as the highest rated Laundry Pros get priority on orders in their area.

Compliments: If you were particularly pleased with an order, consider adding “compliments” to the order! It makes your Laundry Pro’s day to get a great review from you.

Leaving a good tip, rating, and compliments, will motivate your favorite Laundry Pro to accept your order if you request them again in the future.

On the flip side, bad reviews block a Laundry Pro: If your experience was less than stellar, please leave an honest review. Reviews of 3/5 or lower will automatically block that Laundry Pro from receiving your orders in the future. Any specific feedback you provide can also help that Laundry Pro improve in the future. If a Laundry Pro receives consistently low ratings, they may be removed from the platform.
